Learn traditional and contemporary belly dance, including use of scarves and costuming. Study mesmerizing Middle Eastern rhythms on the doumbek (drum) to accompany the dance. Through this dance, you will deepen your body love and feel the goddess that you are! "Belly dance is the one universal dance that awakens the Goddess inside each of us!"
Solo and troupe performances are available with live musicians or taped music; available styles include Tribal, Egyptian, Cabaret, "Gypsy," and Polynesian, Hula, Tahitian, and Fire Dancing.
Ilima is an accomplished belly dancer who has spent years studying Turkish and Egyptian, Cabaret, and Tribal styles. She is also an excellent Polynesian dancer who began dancing in professional-level Hula and Tahitian shows at age 5; she has created her own unique and popular Polynesian fusion belly dancing style.
Alina is a Middle Eastern percussionist specializing in the doumbek. She teaches doumbek, zills, tar, and tambourine to level one and two students, and facilitates drum, rhythm, and song circles for young people and adults. Alina enjoys performing for belly dancers, as well as backing up herself and other singers in concert and ceremonial settings.
