Ilima Nawahine

Ilima Nawahine received a full-tuition scholarship in dance and received a B.A. in Dance and Theater Arts Production in 1994. She has been dancing professionally since the age of 5 and began her first dance company, "Local Motion," at the age of 15. She has traveled in the U.S., Europe, and Central America, learning different styles of dance and performing arts. After studying many different types of dance, she was introduced to belly dance, and feels strongly that "it is the one universal dance that awakens the Goddess inside each of us!"

Ilima is an accomplished belly dancer. She spent years studying Turkish and Egyptian, Cabaret, and Tribal styles. She has created her own unique and popular Polynesian fusion belly dancing style. Ilima has taught workshops and classes for all levels of dancers in California, Utah, Hawaii, and Virginia. In addition, she is an excellent Polynesian dancer who began dancing in professional-level Hula and Tahitian shows at age 5. She has enthralled audiences with her fire dancing to a variety of styles including Polynesian, Middle Eastern, Tribal, and Modern.
